Background: Patients with paraneoplastic pemphigus (PNP) and inflammatory bowel
diseases, such as Crohn's disease (CD) and ulcerative colitis (UC), develop autoantibodies
against simple epithelial cells. About 20–30% of patients with PNP develop fatal
